Business Phone Systems: Avaya IP Office, Nortel & Cloud

Accutech Communications has installed, serviced and repaired business phone systems for companies in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island since 1993. We work on Avaya IP Office, Nortel and cloud-based systems, and we install the voice and data cabling they run on.

What we do

Design, install and maintain the right phone system

We design, install and maintain business phone systems sized to the company, from a basic digital system to a full VoIP system.

Our technicians and engineers have access to Avaya and Nortel manufacturer support nationwide, for the problems that need more than an on-site fix.

Because we also install network cabling and structured cabling, one company is responsible for the phones and for the cable plant they depend on. When a phone stops working, that saves the back-and-forth over whether it is the system or the wiring.

  • New phone systems designed for your office
  • Service and repair of systems already in place
  • Digital and VoIP systems for businesses of any size
  • Cloud-based systems with the network cabling they need
  • Voice cabling for new desks and moves
  • Ongoing maintenance and support

Choosing a system

On-site, hosted or an existing Nortel system?

The choice affects what equipment you maintain and what your network has to carry.

On-site system (Avaya IP Office)

The phone system runs on equipment in your building, connected to your phones and your outside lines.

  • Works with digital and IP phones
  • You own the equipment
  • Suits offices that want local control

Cloud-based (hosted) phones

The system runs in a provider's data center and your IP phones connect to it over your internet connection.

  • Less equipment on site
  • Depends on a reliable internet connection and good cabling
  • Suits teams across more than one location

An existing Nortel system

Avaya bought Nortel's enterprise business in 2009, and many offices still run Nortel phone systems.

  • We service Nortel telephone systems
  • When one is replaced, we install the new system

What VoIP phones need from your network

An IP or cloud phone is a network device. Call quality depends on the cabling and switches behind it. We check these four things before a VoIP installation.

  • A data drop at every phone. Each IP phone needs a network connection; many phones can pass the connection through to the computer on the same desk.
  • Power over Ethernet. Most IP phones are powered through the network cable, so the switch needs PoE ports with enough power for every phone.
  • Cable in good condition. Old or damaged cabling can cause dropped calls and choppy audio, even when computers on the same cable seem fine.
  • A plan for outages. Know what keeps the phones working if power or the internet goes down, such as a UPS on the network closet.

Reviews from a moved office and a 300-program provider

As a small business owner who just moved to a new office, I spent months looking for help with setting up and connecting my existing phone system. Every phone company I spoke with just wanted to sell me new phones, until I reached out to Accutech Communications and spoke with Kory, who was the only one who knew exactly what I wanted. ...
Christopher MarinoReview
With this many homes to operate, and several clients living in each, there are always phone issues. Accutech has been with us for over ten years. ... I send them over a request, and if they can't make it the same day, they are there first thing the next morning.

Questions

Business phone system questions

Don’t see your question? Call the office at 978-579-0006.

Which phone systems do you work on?

We install, service and repair three kinds: Avaya IP Office systems on site, Nortel systems that are still in use, and cloud-based (hosted) systems. For problems that need more than an on-site fix, our technicians and engineers can reach Avaya and Nortel manufacturer support.

We still have a Nortel system. Can you work on it?

Yes. We service Nortel telephone systems that are still in use, and when one is replaced, we install the new system. We also service existing Avaya IP Office and cloud-based systems.

Can you reconnect our existing phone system after an office move?

Yes. In a review, a small business owner who moved offices wrote that every phone company he called only wanted to sell him new phones, and that Accutech set up and connected the system he already had.

Should we move to a hosted (cloud) phone system?

A hosted system runs in a provider's data center and connects to your IP phones over the internet, so it suits teams spread across sites and needs a reliable connection. An on-site Avaya IP Office suits offices that want the equipment and control in their own building. We install and service both.

Do you install the cabling for the phones too?

Yes. We install the voice and data cabling under the phone system, so one company handles both.

What area do you cover for phone service?

We install and service business phone systems in Boston and across Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.

How much does a business phone system cost?

It depends on the number of users and phones, on-site or cloud, the features you need and the condition of the cabling. Estimates are free: call 978-579-0006 or request one online.
